Sunflowers make excellent cut flowers and many are attractive to bees and birds. Nowadays, there is a huge range of them available on market, including short-stemmed varieties with small flower-heads which are especially suited for arrangements that should remind of summer days. Zinnia This annual plant shouldn’t be missing in any autumnal arrangement. Zinnias produce flowers in typical shades of autumn: bright yellow, orange, red and pink – including single to fully double flower-heads. They have a long vase life (provided for appropriate conditions). Dahlia There is no other plant like dahlia when it comes to the range of varieties – single and double flowers in white, yellow, orange, red, pink or lilac. They can be arranged easily with any other autumn flowers and have quite long vase life. Hydrangea Hydrangeas are widely used in autumnal arrangements. There are even more fans of this beautiful cut flower from year to year. The ball hydrangea consists of many gentle leaves in delicate shades of blue, pink and white. Aster Due to its colorful range and different flowering times, asters – available in yellow, orange, red, pink or blue – are indispensable members of any autumnal arrangement. They have also a long vase life. Single, double or fully double – asters leave nothing to be desired! They will reach 60 cm in height. Gorgeous asters will stay fresh in your vase for about two weeks. Chinese lantern Due to its bright orange (almost red) “papery” fruits, Chinese lantern resembles paper lanterns. This perennial will reach up to 1 meter height and will bring in highlights in your garden every year. Its fruits are one of the favorite florists’ accessories: whether in bouquets or autumnal wreaths – it will always look gorgeous. Peruvian Lily The 150 cm long stems of Peruvian lily are decorated with lily-like flower-heads growing in all directions. There are all shades – white to red – available on market. Cut Peruvian lily flowers will last quite long and are an inseparable element of almost each autumnal arrangement. Chrysanthemum Due to breeders‘work, Chrysanthemums will meet everyone’s taste: numerous shades and flower-head types – single or double, balls or pompons… Very long vase life makes them to one of the most precious cut flowers. Mums are available in white, yellow, red, pink or blue.
