Given the conditions of vulnerability that the COVID-19 pandemic generated in some communities, a group of children and young people from the Salvadoran municipality of El Paisnal, El Salvador, has undertaken a project of community gardens in the El Chaparral community where they harvest vegetables and fruits to put improve the nutritional condition of them and their family groups. The young people have started planting some fruits and vegetables in the community area where 107 families live. These foods have made it possible to ensure the feeding of the participants and other members of El Chaparral. The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Pablo Salvador Anliker, applauded the initiative of the children and young entrepreneurs and, without hesitation, offered to give them seeds and provide technical assistance in order to strengthen the productive activity they develop. According to the owner's instruction, the training and agricultural technical assistance will be provided by extension agents from the Enrique Álvarez Córdova National Center for Agricultural and Forestry Technology (CENTA), as well as from other institutions of this State Portfolio. "Tell them that we are going to provide technical assistance and the next seeds to plant will be on our side," Minister Anliker reported on his official Twitter account. In the next few days, a visit to the community will be made to identify other needs in which the MAG can support them.
