This positive trend is also observed for garden products, which reached a volume of around 214,500 tons during the 2020-2021 season (as of November 22), thus registering a growth of 15% compared to the previous season, according to data of the Government of Morocco, which places the increase in tomato exports around 3% to reach a volume of 117,400 tons. As for peppers and chillies, it also registers "a good performance" with a volume of 19,400 tons, 27% more compared to the 2019-2020 campaign. In the case of raspberries, during this season exports reached a volume of around 6,500 tons, registering a growth close to 17%. Production Furthermore, the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture reports that, according to the autumn rotation program in garden crops for the current agricultural season, the achievements of November 20 reached 62,700 ha, or 60% of the program adopted by the Department of Agriculture (1,005,000 ha) with a compliance rate of the main crops that reaches 88% for tomato, 62% for potato and 42% for onion. However, the government body ensures that this horticulture program will be fully completed before the end of December. Regarding the main autumn crops (cereals, seeds, legumes, forages and sugar crops), and due to the delay in the rains, the achievements made to date in Moroccan lands have reached 1,200,000 ha, or 21 % of global program adopted for all. crops (5,733,000 ha) with an achievement rate that reached 74% for sugar crops. However, with the arrival of the expected rains in the coming weeks, the rate of sowing of the main autumn crops, in particular cereals, indicates the Moroccan Administration, "will accelerate and could reach one million hectares per week, following the example of similar agricultural seasons and thus compensate for the delay registered since the beginning of the season, taking into account that the world cereal production of 2020/21 is forecast to record levels ". In this way, the Moroccan Department of Agriculture explains that the supply of these products to the national market is carried out under normal conditions, so that "despite the limited national production this year and thanks in particular to the measures to suspend rights Customs, imports are made regularly in sufficient quantity and quality to meet the cereal needs of the processing industry that the country is carrying out (flour mills and industrial semolina factories, compound feed manufacturers, etc.), being able to renew constantly internal stocks covering 3 to 4 months of needs". In addition, it refers to the fact that the industrial activity for the production of cereals is at normal levels, covering all the product needs of Moroccan consumers, particularly flour and semolina, with relative price stability. As for legumes, especially lentils and chickpeas, the Moroccan government considers that the national market is "sufficiently supplied with a constant coverage of needs for 4 to 5 months with relatively stable prices."
