The world is changing and so is horticulture. With HortOS, Ridder introduces a new ecosystem to help horticultural entrepreneurs follow important trends and developments in the areas of scaling up, filling knowledge gaps and digitization. Collaboration plays an important role in this; in the organization itself, but also throughout the chain. “We want to offer entrepreneurs even greater control through collaborations, as well as unlocking and sharing the right information. The aim is for the management of large-scale horticultural companies to be more results-oriented ”.

Ridder HortOS offers large-scale horticultural companies a central environment so they can work together on goals. Not only does it include financial and operational data from multiple crops, greenhouses and locations, it also translates it into well-founded information and clear insights to make the right decisions, yourself or fully automatically. Regardless of whether it is about operational processes in the greenhouse or long-term strategic decisions; with HortOS the entire organization works together on growth and performance.

Open platform

HortOS is a platform from Ridder whose first smart modules are available as of today. But HortOS will also offer space for collaboration and partnership with other parties. Therefore, the introduction of HortOS is the result of Ridder's vision of the autonomous greenhouse. As a provider of a comprehensive system solution, Ridder wants to play a leading role in creating this fully automated and intelligent growth environment. “However, we are well aware that joint innovation can play an important role in advancing the autonomous ecosystem of greenhouses. For that reason, Ridder HortOS is designed as an open platform for creative collaborative partnerships aimed at a more sustainable, autonomous and profitable future for horticulture, ”says Sjaak Bakker, CEO of Ridder Growing Solutions.

First modules available

With HortOS, Ridder opens the door to new knowledge, ideas and digital services that support entrepreneurs in the realization of successful horticultural projects. “The introduction of HortOS goes hand in hand with the launch of the first two modules. The Strategic Manager Module provides owners and investors of large horticultural companies with the most up-to-date insight and control of financial results by organization, location, greenhouse and crop. The grower-oriented Grower Module offers growers and crop managers an insight into the progress of different locations, greenhouses and crops, as well as how to optimize them. It processes the most important data from the greenhouse into a more aggregated summary with an emphasis on collaboration and control of performance ”.

Collaboration for growth

An important focus of HortOS is improving results through extensive collaboration and by unlocking the right data and information. “At HortOS we convert the organization's data in the right context. This allows you to view progress, monitor goals, and adjust where needed. In this way, the various layers of the company can work together, using a common language. Regardless of whether they are farmers, crop managers, department heads or owners and managers at the executive level; at Ridder HortOS everyone works together on growth and performance ”.
