According to regional management bodies of the agro-industrial complex, agricultural organizations currently have labor resources for seasonal fieldwork in 2020. The planting campaign in Russia is carried out as usual. Harvesting of wild strawberries has already begun in the Northern Caucasus and Southern United States districts; There is also no shortage of staff during these and other collection operations and is not expected in the future.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture, together with the managing bodies of the regional agribusiness complex, is actively working with agricultural producers and employment services to provide personnel to industry organizations. Currently, there is a tendency to overflow workers from other sectors of the economy towards agriculture: under current conditions, the agro-industrial complex is becoming an increasingly attractive segment for work, which in many ways contributes to maintaining a stable situation in the general labor market.

Today, the Russian agribusiness complex can provide employment for thousands of people across the country. At the same time, agricultural companies are ready to offer competitive seasonal wages, not only providing field work, but also the opportunity to develop professional skills for qualified IT specialists, engineers, machine operators, equipment adjusters. Increasingly successful examples of employment of urban residents in the agricultural sector appear: among the leaders of this process are the Volgograd region, the Astrakhan region and several other entities.

In 2020, the planting season rate is significantly higher than last year. As of April 28, across the country, of 18.3 million hectares, 14.8 million hectares were fed, or 80.8% of the area sown with winter cereal crops (in 2019: 13.5 million hectares). Spring sowing was done on 10.5 million hectares, including spring crops sown on 6.3 million ha (in 2019: 9.6 million ha and 5.7 million ha, respectively).
