Residues are detected on strawberries

Italian authorities have detected the presence of Methomyl residues in strawberries originating from Egypt.

The Rapid Alert System of Food and Feed (RASFF) has informed that the Italian authorities have detected the presence of Methomyl residues in strawberries originating from Egypt.

Since RASFF notified that alert, these strawberries were not yet in the market, so they were proceeded to be destroyed.

The realized analysis determined the presence of 0.18 ppm. However, the Maximun Residue Limits (MRLs) for this active matter are 0.02 ppm.
