The Tomato Demo Day was held successfully at the Trial Center Tomato, Rijk Zwaan’s demonstration facility in Kwintsheul, The Netherlands. More than 150 visitors took the opportunity to look around the greenhouse and the demo area in order to gain an overview of Rijk Zwaan’s complete range of existing and new tomato varieties.

“In particular, there was a lot of interest in 72-720 RZ, which is a variety in the ‘truss medium’ segment with nice red flesh,” says Ben Zwinkels from Rijk Zwaan Nederland. “In production terms, it is at least as good as the standard RZ variety in that segment and it produces lovely, flat trusses. Another variety that attracted visitors’ attention was Pionento, a loose tomato offering a firm fruit and high productivity.”
