VOG is preparing to take part in Fruit Logistica, the international fresh produce trade show which will be held in Berlin on 3-5 February. The Consortium will be located at stand B-10 in hall 4.2 where visitors will be able to discover and taste the new ENVY® variety from New Zealand, an apple that stands out for its innate sweetness and intensely fruity and aromatic flavour.

A cross between a Royal Gala and a Braeburn, thanks to its distinctive sensory characteristics, unique in the sweet apples segment, the ENVY® has proved extremely popular with consumers in numerous different countries ever since it was first launched. This convinced ENZA, the distributor and holder of the brand’s licensing rights, to launch a global project in which VOG – together with the second partner in South Tyrol, the VI.P Consortium – plays an important part. In fact, in 2012 our Consortium played a key role in developing the Italian and Spanish market and in supplying the Northern European markets through our partnership with Enza.

In the first half of December, VOG organised promotional days at 17 wholesale markets in Italy and Spain to propose the ENVY® to wholesalers, and the response it received was very enthusiastic. Over 20,000 information flyers were printed as part of the campaign and distributed at the tastings together with an Envy® apple in its custom box.

The second part of the harvest, eagerly anticipated by distributors, will hit the markets at the end of January.
