Paolo Bruni, president of CSO Italy.

On the project to relaunch the Emilia-Romagna pear through the enhancement of the PGI there is the convergence of the two major regional (and national) players in the sector, Opera and Origine Group, and the Department of Agriculture of the Region in person councilor Alessio Mammi, as well as of course the same Consortium of Protection and Enhancement, for which the prospect of assuming a role that launches it on a new dimension opens up.

"It is the most extraordinary result - declares the president of CSO Italy Paolo Bruni - of our today's online congress, which we organized with Futurpera, Ferrara Fiere Congressi and the Interprofessional Organization Pera, one year after Futurpera, which the problems and perspectives of the pear with high-level reports and contributions, and an equally extraordinary number, over 600, of followers who registered and followed us closely for over three hours through the Zoom and Facebook platform ".

"It is no longer the time for divisions - said Councilor Mammi - but it is to join forces after two years of enormous difficulties for the sector because Emilia Romagna can and must come out of the emergency. Here today the desire to work together around the enhancement of Pera PGI was clearly expressed and the Region is there, it will certainly do its part. We are waiting for the project to be finalized and sent to us. We must do it, because this is not a secondary element of a clear desire to have a strong Italian fruit and vegetable system in the coming years, as an essential element of the Italian and European agri-food industry ".

The IGP Consortium has undertaken, through the words of its president Adriano Aldrovandi, to shortly convene the shareholders' meeting to formalize "the availability of our container for the project to relaunch periculture in our region". Aldrovandi is also president of Opera, which aggregates 25% of national pear production and 33% of regional production, and in this capacity he declared without delay: "Opera is available and proud to participate in a project to relaunch the pear in Emilia Romagna".

The director of Origine Group Alessandro Zampagna echoed him: "Certainly the PGI can be a resource, the tool to meet and make projects together. Our availability is total, but we must be aware that the goal is important and for this we must agree on the methods, on what we actually want to do, in terms of marketing, bureaucratic procedures, technical structures, to be successful ".

President Bruni had guaranteed, since the meeting on 8 July last, when this project was discussed for the first time, with the presence of the President of the Region Stefano Bonaccini, the broadest willingness of CSO Italy to support the Consorzio della Pera IGP in this crucial project to strengthen its role aimed at relaunching the sector. Availability confirmed all the way today.
