The first edition of Macfrut Digital is approaching, a virtual fair dedicated to fruits and vegetables that was born from an intuition of Cesena Fiera and is scheduled from September 8 to September 10. And the figures registered to date, a few days after the inauguration, only confirm this idea: 530 exhibition modules sold for 400 exhibitors (the launch objective was 200 modules for 150 exhibitors), registrations have been sold out and there are companies on the list waiting, there will be a large presence of participants from outside Italy (they represent 40% of the exhibiting companies), 600 buyers already registered on the platform, of which 550 are not Italian. The worldwide participation of the offices "ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies" and the network of foreign agents of Cesena Fiera has been fundamental for the presence of buyers.

The most important data comes from abroad. Almost one in every two exhibitors is outside of Italy, with China being the absolute leader in terms of attendance with up to 87 exhibitors, thanks to the collaboration with ATPC (Agricultural Trade Promotion Center), the promotion body of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture that has believed in this event. In addition to China, numerous group exhibitions will be held in the international "Country Pavilion", adding to the nine that had been scheduled. In this digital edition we will also have the enormous presence of participants from Central and South America (Colombia, Chile and the Dominican Republic), as well as from Africa, thanks to the close relationship with Unido, Lab Innova and AICS. All this without forgetting Europe, with participants from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Spain and Switzerland. Many participants from Eastern Europe (Albania, Bulgaria, Ukraine) will also be present.

Exhibitors will have a privileged channel to "dialogue" with the 600 buyers already registered on the platform (550 non-Italians and 50 Italians) and organize B2B meetings. Macfrut Digital allows a double level of interaction: visitors can view virtual stands, chat, request information and establish contacts for future business meetings and exhibitors can organize B2B meetings with buyers through a scheduling system with the support of staff by Cesena Fiera to match the agendas and specific interests of buyers and businesses. Access to Macfrut Digital is allowed from any device (computer or smartphone), while B2B meetings will be held only from a computer using a special link provided by the staff.

Access to the Macfrut Digital platform is allowed with prior compulsory and free registration. To date, more than 4000 visitors have already been registered, of which 70% come from outside Italy. In recent days, registrations have increased significantly and therefore operators are advised to register as soon as possible to guarantee participation, taking into account that a maximum number of 30 thousand visitors is expected.

“We have ventured into a new path and it must be said that the fruit and vegetable sector has responded very well - explains Renzo Piraccini, president of Macfrut - We feel we are the pioneers of a project with immense potential, unthinkable until a few months ago. The prolongation of the conditions of the public health emergency and the international uncertainty that arises as a consequence confirm the success of our choice that has changed the focus of the sector ”.
