France finances replacement of farmers unable to work during coronavirus crisis This measure is due to the fact that the daily assignments they receive do not allow them to assume the cost of a replacement to carry out the tasks involved in farming. 4/30/2020
A replacement allowance can be paid to farmers who, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, are forced to stay home either because they have coronaviruses or because they have to care for children under the age of 16 or a child under the age of 18 years with a disability. In fact, these operators have been prevented, since March 16, from carrying out work on their farm despite the fact that certain tasks cannot be postponed (for example, animal trafficking). The daily assignments they receive do not allow them to bear the cost of a replacement to carry out these tasks. The replacement allowance, provided for by an ordinance of April 15, 2020, supports these farmers by allowing the cost of replacement to be covered on the farm within a limit of € 112 per day. It will be paid by the funds of the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA). This allocation will be paid, in supporting documents, to replacement services if the operator uses their service or directly to the operator if they have contracted directly. This measure is applied during the entire period of the state of health. Operators who have contracted a replacement for agricultural work since March 16, 2020 may benefit from this date. Daily allowances received will be deducted from the paid allowance.
