Members of French agricultural cooperatives will have access to individual compensation from the solidarity fund

Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy and Finance, and Didier Guillaume, French Minister of Agriculture and Food, have adapted the eligibility conditions for the solidarity fund of agricultural managers associated with the Groupement Agricoles Joint Operation (GAEC): the principle of transparency for GAEC will be applied within the framework of the application of this fund. Thus, all associate managing directors of a GAEC can benefit individually from the assistance of the solidarity fund.

Financed by the State, the Regions and the Overseas Communities, a solidarity fund established by decree n° 2020-371 of March 30, modified the objectives to offer aid to companies particularly affected by the economic consequences . The financial and social reasons for the spread of the Covid-19 virus cannot be part of the Groupements Agricoles d'Explotation en Commun (GAEC). This fund is intended for companies whose annual turnover is less than 1 million euros and which have been subject to an administrative closure measure or which have experienced a significant drop in their turnover. (50% in March 2020 compared to the same period of the 2019 financial year).

This fund highlights in particular the payment of aid, capped at € 1,500, for the month of March and renewed for the month of April. Although eligible for the solidarity fund, the associated farmers of the GAEC, new depositors, request aid for the opening of service on March 31 due to the absence of an individual tax identification number for each GAEC operator. Given this specificity, a dedicated form was put online today to allow operational managers associated within a GAEC to individually submit a request for solidarity funds, before June 15 (for grants in March and April). Thus, each member of the group can claim aid of up to 1,500 euros depending on the loss of turnover declared by the GAEC, without prejudice to the additional support financed by the regions.
