The Numagri association was created in France in order to standardize agricultural data The objective is to define and establish a system to mobilize agricultural data to improve agricultural products and practices. 6/24/2020
By working on the standardization of agricultural data, Numagri aims to become a place of dialogue and concertation between players in the sector and the sectors, in order to facilitate exchanges and the promotion of agricultural data. To achieve this objective, the founding members of the project met on Tuesday, June 16 to act on the constitution of the Numagri association and to validate the statutes. Building the common language of agriculture in France “With Numagri, we want to create the conditions conducive to the production, dissemination and exploitation of data linked to the agricultural production cycle, for the benefit of farmers. This supposes the emergence of standards on these data, that is to say: to build the common language of agriculture in France. We are convinced that this will allow French agricultural producers to improve their economic, environmental and social performance, and to better respond to the expectations of domestic and international markets, while capturing value thanks to the information they generate and which they will stay in control, ”said Maximin Charpentier, President of Numagri. The founding members divided into three colleges, to represent the entire digital agricultural ecosystem The governance of the Numagri association is currently based on three colleges, in which its founding members are distributed: the agricultural college (FNSEA, Young Farmers, Chambers of Agriculture - APCA, and Agricultural Cooperation), the college supply chains (with the milk industry - Cniel - and oilseed crops - Terres Univia) and the college of public and private operators, notably with the Avril Foundation. To enrich the development of the association and best meet everyone's expectations, we invite all stakeholders in the farming community to join the Numagri association. Through a contract of objectives and means, Numagri entrusts Agdatahub with the identification of use cases, animation of the ecosystem, relations with software publishers and owners of existing repositories, with the objective of setting up a digital infrastructure which secures and facilitates the control of information by agricultural producers. The technical aspect of standardization and its internationalization will be operated by GS1 France. Next steps, for Numagri: bring together as many actors as possible around the project through meetings and exchanges; coordinate with the Num-alim project; update the list of existing standards; initiate the first communities for the new standards and bring the benchmarks developed in France to the European and international level. Numagri Initiated in 2018 by the Avril Foundation, Numagri has since been supported by a consortium of key players from the French agricultural sector. They are today the founding members of the Numagri association. Their objective: to define and set up a system for mobilizing agricultural data to enhance agricultural products and practices.
