Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev today discussed the development of bilateral agricultural cooperation with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation, Gez Andreas von Gayr.

Germany remains one of Russia's strategic partners in agriculture. Last year, the turnover of agricultural products increased and amounted to more than 1.5 billion dollars. As Dmitry Patrushev pointed out, "Our country is interested in continuing to increase export supplies. This will be facilitated, among other things, by the active interaction between the business circles of the two countries, as well as by the implementation of joint investment projects. ".

One of the key areas of work is the discussion of current issues of agricultural development in international discussion platforms. Last year, Russia participated in two major events: the food industry exhibition "Green Week" in Berlin and the annual exhibition for organic products "Biofach". Furthermore, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture will continue to cooperate with German colleagues in the framework of the project "German-Russian Agrarian-Political Dialogue" and is ready to support it in the future.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Patrushev stressed that, in general, Russian-German relations in the field of agriculture are progressively developing and stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum of cooperation.
