The Argentine Association of Direct Sowing Producers (AAPRESID) together with Bioceres Semillas launch a benefits program for producers that aim to maximize their yields and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices with a focus on production traceability. The participation of Bioceres Semillas comes from the hand of Generación HB4, a system for the production of wheat and soybean seeds with the HB4 gene (of tolerance to drought and salinity) under identity preserved with the highest safety standards. AAPRESID's contribution will be through Certified Sustainable Agriculture (ASC), a scheme for the certification of agricultural establishments based on compliance with sustainable practices in the productive, social and environmental levels. ASC has the potential to have detailed information on each of the production processes, which is relevant in the production of quality seeds. Through an associative scheme, Bioceres provides technological inputs with low environmental impact together with a digital agriculture platform to monitor production. For their part, “ASC” certified producers are associated with the program by providing seed production services. This first stage of the association aims to offer significant economic benefits to certified producers that help scale biological technologies designed by Bioceres for HB4 soybeans. The producer will be able to count on integral solutions including ecoseed, fertilizer, adjuvants. Benefits for producers under Sustainable Agriculture:
"We seek to partner with producers who give greater importance to sustainable practices to produce seeds with HB4 technology, aiming to improve each of the productive and environmental processes associated with the activity," said Rodrigo López, HB4 Generation Manager. Through ASC those producers and agricultural establishments that comply with sustainable practices and indicators that guarantee processes and systems of responsible, profitable and high productivity production with traceability of each of their processes are certified. "Through this association we reinforce the leitmotif of the project, to produce with inputs with low environmental impact, increase productivity and provide benefits to producers committed to sustainability," said Tomás Mata, manager of AAPRESID Certifications.
