With confinement brought on by COVID-19, home baking is considered a national pastime in Ireland, which is why a famous baker and chef, Donal Skehan, has teamed up with Fyffes to find the recipe for Ireland's "best banana bread" . Along with gardening and redecorating our homes, baking has been one of the most popular activities families enjoy lately, with banana bread on the favorites list in most homes. Citing the purpose behind the company, Skehan said: “There are as many different ways to bake banana bread as there are to enjoy the banana itself! We are now a nation of banana bread experts, it's practically a national dish, and it's time to put those baking skills to the test. Our goal is to capture as many ideas, ingredients, and methods as possible and share them far and wide. ” Registrations are open July 20-27, with winners announced on July 31. The reward will go to the overall winner and the best junior baker, and recognition will also be given for their originality in other areas. Commenting, Fyffes Marketing Manager Emma Hunt-Duffy said: "Our 'Great Banana Bread Bake Off' is to show how imaginative our home bakers are when it comes to creating new and traditional recipes." "In recent months, banana bread was among the most sought-after recipes online, and now we want to see the best creations of all. With many categories, we hope to see some interesting new proposals," added Hunt-Duffy.
