Qatar, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. There are three new countries in which it will be possible to find Marlene® apples for sale: an important milestone for the leading firm of the VOG Consortium, born in 1995, which is why this year it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The first container of apples with the blue sticker set sail on August 21, while the others will follow in early September. “We are very happy and proud to have reached three other countries just this year, the 25th anniversary of the birth of Marlene®,” explains Hannes Tauber, Marketing Manager of the VOG Consortium.

In its first twenty-five years of life, Marlene® has become known and appreciated in many countries, gaining acceptance from customers and end consumers. "For the VOG, foreign markets represent a priority objective, it is not for nothing that we export our thirty varieties to more than sixty-five countries around the world", comments Walter Pardatscher, director of the VOG Consortium. “Last March we reached a fundamental milestone for all Italian apple farming: the first Italian apples arrived in Vietnam, and they were our Pink Lady®. We are now adding three more goals to the Marlene® brand journey. Our brand has reached more than twenty-five countries in twenty-five years of life: a result of which we can be proud and that fills us with enthusiasm. ”

"This is news that fills the entire Italian apple agriculture sector with satisfaction, because it shows the efficiency and capacity of our production system in opening new frontiers," says Alessandro Dalpiaz, director of Assomela. "We are proud that an international quality brand like Marlene® brings the excellence of Made in Italy to these new markets."

These are the first three shipments of a total of 60,000 kg, about 450,000 Royal Gala Marlene® apples from the new harvest, which will arrive at their destination after thirty days of crossing by ship. “In Qatar, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, most of the apples will be marketed in the fruit and vegetable departments of supermarkets: in this initial period it will be very important to receive the impressions of our clients of the large distribution”, concludes Klaus Hölzl, commercial manager of the VOG Consortium. "Anyway, some europallet will also be sold through the fruit and vegetable markets of the three countries."
