The Interpoma Congress opens its registration period

As of September 7, it will be possible to register for the 12th edition of the Interpoma Congress, the international meeting dedicated to the world of apples, which this year will be available both in person at Fiera Bolzano and online.

Interpoma 2020 reinvents itself and becomes "Interpoma Connects 2020: Digital Days for the Apple Economy", a series of events and initiatives that, on November 19 and 20, will alternate between online and offline activities. The jewel in the crown of this two-day event will be the Interpoma Congress, an international conference with a large panel of expert speakers and a highly specialized audience interested in discovering the latest news related to the production, marketing and communication of the world of the Apple. This year's formula will be new, not so much in terms of development, but in terms of use opportunities: the event can be followed directly at the MEC Meeting & Event Center in South Tyrol, which will have limited places, but it will also be possible connect live from all over the world, prior online registration.

The Interpoma Congress is coordinated by Gerhard Dichgans, an internationally recognized industry consultant, and will be divided into two sessions. The first, scheduled for the morning of November 19, will focus on the agriculture-consumer relationship and sustainability in apple cultivation. Wilhelm Kremer-Schillings, known as "Bauer Willi", a German manager and farmer who is certainly revolutionary when it comes to dialogue between producers and consumers, and Christian Josephi, from the German communication agency Panama PR, will take part in the first theme. which, in return, will talk about how to communicate effectively and correctly in the era of social networks. The first day will conclude with talks by Alfred Strigl, from the Austrian sustainability company Plenum, and Arnold Schuler, Provincial Councilor for Agriculture and Forestry of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (South Tyrol), who will discuss sustainable development strategies for apple cultivation and South Tyrol as the cradle of biodiversity.

In the second session, on the morning of Friday, November 20, attention will be focused on the new challenges that climate change imposes on apple cultivation and varietal innovation. On the first topic there will alternate interventions by Professor Massimo Tagliavini and Dr. Damiano Zanotelli from the Free University of Bolzano, Alain Vialaret (former director of the French company Blue Whale) and Professor Luciana Tavella from the University of Turin .

Walter Guerra, from the Laimburg Experimentation Center (South Tyrol), will inaugurate the last part of the congress dedicated to the hybridization of rootstocks which will include, in addition to his report, an overview of the current state of the sector in other countries with the presentations of Gennaro Fazio, from Cornell University (USA), Vincent Bus, from Plant & Food Research (New Zealand) and Felidas Fernandez, from NIAB EMR (UK).

To participate in the congress it is necessary to register online on the Fiera Bolzano website. The registration fee is 79 euros, with a special rate of 69 euros for those who register before September 25. After registering, you will be sent all the information on how to access the platform to follow the live broadcast. All those registered will also receive by ordinary mail Interpoma Magazine, the first and new editorial initiative that contains the latest news, data and trends in the apple sector. The Congress will have simultaneous interpretation into Italian, German and English in the first session, and also into French in the second.
