Bionema Group Ltd, a leader in biocontrol and sustainable agriculture, today announced the official launch of BoostBio SP 400. This next-generation biobased spray adjuvant enhances the performance of both conventional crop protection products and biological solutions.

BoostBio SP 400 has been officially registered with the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) under the Plant Protection Products Regulations 2011. It is a fully active, soluble liquid made from 92% biobased carbon, is readily biodegradable, and classified as non-hazardous.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety
  • Safe classification – non-hazardous, not toxic, not corrosive, and biodegradable.
  • OMRI and FiBL listed, suitable for organic production systems.
  • Typical dose: 300–400 ml/ha, approved across all edible and non-edible crops.
Proven Compatibility with Biologicals

Unlike many adjuvants, BoostBio SP 400 is fully compatible with microbial products. Studies confirm:
  • No loss of microbial viability – safe for Bacillus, Trichoderma, Beauveria bassiana, Clonostachys rosea and others.
  • Carrier function – controls water activity, extending microbial shelf life in formulations.
  • Field-proven synergy:
    • Improved efficacy of NeemAzal (Azadirachtin) against Tuta absoluta (tomato leafminer).
    • Enhanced performance of Bacillus thuringiensis (Helymax) against Helicoverpa in soybean, delivering higher yields.
This makes BoostBio SP 400 a preferred adjuvant for biocontrol delivery, a rapidly growing segment of modern crop protection.

Superior Field Efficacy

Independent trials confirm that BoostBio SP 400 delivers multiple agronomic advantages:

• Disease control – Reduced pest severity in tomatoes (copper hydroxide trials, Italy) and barley (net blotch trials).
• Weed management – Increased control of barnyard grass, witchgrass, and lovegrass with Nicosulfuron or Clethodim.
• Uptake and penetration – Enhanced absorption of both hydrophilic and lipophilic actives into plant tissues.
• Rainfastness – Maintains efficacy under rainfall conditions.
• Drift reduction – Verified in wind tunnel and drone application trials, cutting fine droplets <150 μm and improving on-target deposition.

Commercial Advantage vs Other Adjuvants

BoostBio SP 400 offers growers and distributors a clear edge:
  • Sustainability – 92% biobased carbon, derived from renewable feedstocks (corn, sunflower, palm, coconut, rapeseed oils).
  • Versatility – Effective with herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, micronutrients, and biologicals.
  • Safety – Free from hazardous classifications, unlike many synthetic alternatives.
  • Organic fit – OMRI and FiBL listings make it suitable for organic and integrated production.
Dr. Minshad Ansari, CEO of Bionema Group, said: “BoostBio™ SP 400 is more than an adjuvant – it’s a breakthrough in how we deliver crop protection. It not only enhances the performance of chemicals but also unlocks the full potential of biologicals, ensuring safer, more sustainable farming for the future.”
