Weidemann launches the new articulated loader, Hoftrac 1390 The continuous improvement and revision of the successful model Hoftrac 1380 as a result of the change of engine to the exhaust emission stage V has given rise to the new generation of the machine of the German company. 3/16/2021
With 13 Series, Weidemann has achieved great success over the years in the agricultural and equestrian sectors, municipal services, commerce and industry. A few years ago we started reviewing all models and recently it was the turn of the 1380 with its wide variety of configurations, which has been further expanded in the new version to increase its versatility. Now this successful model has been relaunched due to the conversion of the engine to Stage V of the emission standard and has also been thoroughly redesigned. As regards, for example, the motorisation, the axles and the hydraulic power, the performance of the new Hoftrac 1390 can be perfectly adapted to the corresponding tasks in different sectors. The tipping load with the straight bucket ranges from 1610 to 2100 kg, depending on the engine and machine equipment. With the newly developed, electronically controlled ecDrive travel drive, the user has more application options and a completely new driving experience at their disposal. The excellent spaciousness of the driver's position and the cab is unique in this size category. Different engines for optimal performance development The 1390 will be offered in the future with three Yanmar engines. The base engine is 18.4 kW / 25 hp and the larger version is 33.3 kW / 45.3 hp. There is also another more powerful 40.1 kW / 54.5 hp engine. According to the manufacturer, the new entry-level engine should perform above the horse category. Surely you are wondering how it can be. The reason is the unique electronically controlled Weidemann travel drive, the so-called ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive), which enables higher overall machine performance even in categories with lower CV. Another advantage is that the 25hp engine complies with emission standard stage V and does not require any after-treatment of the emissions. Among other things, this motorization is suitable for users who tend to use their machine for fewer hours. Only Weidemann offers a combination of a highly efficient travel drive and an engine without emission aftertreatment in this machine category. In the two 45.3 and 54.5 hp versions, the Stage V emission standard was implemented by installing a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) together with a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). The advantage is that with this technology it is not necessary to add any urea solution (DEF). The entire engine unit, including the emission aftertreatment, is from Yanmar, so all components are perfectly timed and the machine automatically regenerates to the proper operating temperature. Its small engine has a top speed of 20 km / h. With large engines you can choose a top speed of 20 km / h and now also 30 km / h. The powerful working hydraulics of the new loader is 41.6 l / min or, together with the larger engines, 49.4 l / min or optionally 58.5 l / min. One of the novelties is the High Flow option with even 84 l / min. The High Flow hydraulic system is perfectly adapted to provide permanently high hydraulic power for a long time, for example when used with a snow blower or large mowers and brushcutters. For different thrust forces, on the 1390 you can choose between the following three axles: In addition to the standard T94 axle with hydrostatic four-wheel drive without differential lock, the machine can also be equipped with two PA 940 planetary axles with a raise option 22.7 or 26.4 kN push force, including differential lock. The differential lock can always be activated on these two axles as required and acts 100% on the front and rear axles, ensuring maximum traction without having a negative impact on fuel consumption or tire wear, as with other systems. Overall, Weidemann paid particular attention to better access for maintenance and service when redesigning the 1390. This is why the engine hood can be opened upwards for easy access to all components that require maintenance. The tilting driver's station has also been incorporated into the 1390, ensuring perfect access to all components listed below. The layout of the following technical components inside the machine has been redesigned: the routing of the hoses and cables with fixed points and brackets, as well as the placement of fuses, relays and control units guarantee a long service life and periods of brief inactivity. In case of repair, they can be changed quickly and easily. Weidemann ecDrive - the new electronically controlled travel drive With the new electronically controlled ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive) drive, the 1390 can be driven and used as needed. To this end, Weidemann has implemented four different driving modes. Auto mode guarantees typical loader performance at 100%. In Eco mode, the engine speed is reduced to 2,200 rpm after reaching the desired vehicle speed, reducing noise and saving fuel, as well as user load and costs. However, in Eco mode the travel drive also has full power. The other two optional driving modes have been specially designed for the use of hydraulic attachments or optimized execution of the Y load cycle. In the so-called Attachment mode, the use of attachments is made easier. The number of revolutions of the diesel engine is adjusted with the manual throttle and the travel speed is regulated with the accelerator pedal or the cruise control. With its help, speeds can be set very precisely in steps of 0.10 km / h via the display. This is a cruise control function. Thus, a constant feed for the implement is guaranteed. If the load on the implement is too high (for example, several pieces in front of a brush cutter), the machine automatically reduces speed to provide the most power possible to the implement. Once the load has been removed, it is regulated back to the preset speed on the machine. However, if you want to drive or reverse more quickly, you can override this function at any time by pressing the foot pedal and the machine will run at full speed. M-Drive mode is the right choice for optimal execution of short-stroke load cycles, known as Y-load cycles: The number of revolutions of the diesel engine is adjusted with the manual throttle and the travel speed or pressure Controls are controlled with the accelerator pedal or pressure control. This eliminates the need for crawling and supports fast Y-charge cycles. With these new driving modes, the 1390 and the amount of hydraulic oil for the various attachments can be dosed and controlled with great precision in the application. This makes the use of implements and loading tasks much more efficient and comfortable. The new electric parking brake offers an Auto Hold and Hill Hold function. The brake is activated automatically when the machine is stopped, the direction of travel is put in neutral, the driver leaves the seat or the engine stops. The electric parking brake is also released automatically when the machine is started with the accelerator pedal. Of course, the brake can also be activated or deactivated manually via a switch. Thanks to these automatic functions, maximum safety is achieved together with high comfort. Cargo equipment adjusted to needs Weidemann offers the right kinematics for each machine size. The 1390 comes standard with P-kinematics, which impresses with precise parallel guidance throughout the entire lift range. A longer oscillating version of the P-kinematics is also optionally available, increasing the lift height by 20 cm. In addition, P-Z kinematics, which is a combination of P-kinematics and Z-kinematics, is also available. It achieves considerable breakout and lifting forces while providing precise parallel motion. The standard built-in Flat Face hydraulic couplings are easy to clean and ensure less soiling throughout the hydraulic system. When coupling the hydraulic hoses, there is hardly any leakage, so hands, machine, implement and ground surface remain clean. Hydraulic Flat Face couplings allow attachments to be attached even under pressure, saving time. All types of couplings are mounted on the same partition and are therefore easily accessible. To further facilitate coupling and uncoupling of hydraulic attachments, it also incorporates the pressure relief function of the third control circuit, which is easily accessible from the front of the loader arm. Ergonomic and comfortable driver's station with multifunction joystick The interior of the machine has been fully developed with a color operating concept. Its ergonomic and comfortable driver's position offers a clear layout of the switches based on a color scheme. Its ergonomic and comfortable driver's position offers a clear layout of the switches based on a color scheme. All control elements are easily accessible and the operator always has the most important information on the machine in view on a well-structured display. The height and tilt of the steering wheel can be individually configured according to the operator's needs. This ensures that all drivers can use the machine ergonomically and without fatigue. The excellent clarity of the previous model has been further improved, for example, the roof section with protective grille has been enlarged on both the protective roof and in the cab to ensure perfect visibility of the work area from above. The machine already has a series of LED work lights (2 in the front and 1 in the rear) with 1,000 lumens each. Illumination can be further enhanced to meet different requirements by additional work lights with 2,000 lumens each, allowing for safer and individually tailored machine work in the dark. Good lighting of the work area allows the driver to work with the machine for longer without tiring. In this size category, the machine has a very spacious comfortable cab. One of its unique features on the market is the implemented 4-post design and the large panoramic and curved rear window, which, together with the sloping engine hood, allow excellent rearward visibility. This means that work can be done comfortably and easily in tight conditions, and Weidemann is setting a new benchmark when it comes to safety. Coming Home lighting is standard on the cab machine, whereby both the work lights and the cab light remain on for 20 seconds after the engine is switched off. In addition, the left step is illuminated, allowing the driver to get on and off safely and comfortably, especially in the dark. You can choose between two different door versions for the cab: it is available with one-piece glass doors that ensure excellent visibility on both sides and can be optimally adjusted to provide slit ventilation in summer. Optionally there is a version with two-piece doors in which the upper window can be opened with slit ventilation or 180 °. Both door versions can be opened back 180 ° and locked so that you can work with them fully open. With these different options, the operator can decide individually and, depending on the temperature, how he wants the climate in the cabin while working. With the new multi-function joystick, the operator can operate various functions with one hand. The basic function of the third control circuit can be used proportionally by moving the control wheel in different degrees. The continuous function of the third control circuit is easily activated by a button on the keyboard and can also be comfortably controlled with the joystick, by moving the control wheel in both directions. In addition, the two electrical functions can be controlled by pressing or releasing the joystick buttons, independently of each other. Clear display and wedias diagnostic and analysis system Thanks to the well-arranged display, the driver has an optimal overview of the machine. In addition to standard indicators such as temperature, tank fill level or operating hours, active functions are always visible in the cab; for example, electrical functions activated, continuous operation of the third control circuit, or differential lock activated. The Weidemann wedias diagnostic and analysis system makes it possible to evaluate functions such as displacement, third control circuit, motor data and electrical functions more quickly and unequivocally. The active messages on the display allow the driver to immediately notice possible faults and to react quickly. Thanks to the precise identification of the error number, the dealer can prepare and go to see the machine with the appropriate spare parts. Subsequent failure analysis greatly facilitates diagnostics and troubleshooting. This saves time and money and does not run out of patience. Good working climate even in the cab The new 1390 also incorporates changes when it comes to the work environment: the cabin climate has been greatly improved with the installation of a new more efficient heating and ventilation system with fan, fresh air filter and good ventilation nozzles. distributed. In places with very high outside temperatures, the optional efficient air conditioning is recommended. Use of the trailer The 1390 can tow a trailer with a total weight of up to 3.5 t thanks to the optional trailer hitch. A K50 ball hitch or automatic trailer hitch is available. The ability to tow a trailer extends the machine's range of use and offers more flexibility, as no additional towing vehicle is required. New dynamic design There have also been changes from an aesthetic point of view: with the complete redesign of the 1390 and the various new functions and features, Weidemann has also changed the look of the machine. Its dynamic and striking line stands out above all on the engine hood with the modification of the air conduction and the new and characteristic driver's position or the new cabin. In short, the new Hoftrac 1390 from Weidemann offers many new features and options for individual equipment and very safe and comfortable work. The wide variety of machine configurations allows the customer to equip the machine according to the required performance and productivity. This should continue to pave the way to become one of the most successful machines in the Weidemann range.
