The Fruit Growing Conference will take place on January 17, 2024, during the Fruit and Vegetable Growing Fair - TSW 2024. This event is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends and challenges in industrial fruit growing. A number of key topics will be discussed during the conference, including the economic and agrotechnical aspects of growing apple, pear and cherry trees. Discussions will focus on "Horticulture Challenges 2024", with an emphasis on alternative growing methods and analysis of market trends. Economic issues will also be discussed, examining future fruit growing models, methods to reduce inputs and looking for savings without sacrificing quality. Apple varieties that currently offer better profitability prospects will also be considered. In addition, the issue of apple scab, which surprised fruit growers in the 2023 season, and storage methods for apples and pears in the 2023/2024 season will be discussed. The conference will also be an opportunity to discuss modern approaches to growing cherry and pear trees, especially in the context of the last season. During the 14th edition of TSW, special attention will be paid to the voices of the young generation of fruit growers who share their experiences and challenges related to a family farm. The last but equally important topic will be the impact of fruit imports on Polish fruit growing and myths related to it will be discussed.
