New Suspended tracks for New Holland CR combine harvesters

11/12/2013

NH Smarttrax with Smartglide.

For years now the New Holland 'Triangle Concept’ tracked drivetrain has proven its great capabilities in CR combine harvesters. With effect from the new 2013/2014 season, the conventional flagship combine harvesters, the CX7000 and the CX8000 can be fitted with this tracked drive as a factory fit option.

At the same time however, for even more challenging requirements, the new 'SmartTrax™ with Terraglide™' system is being developed for the range.

This tracked drive system will be unveiled to the general public at Agritechnica 2013.

The new design incorporates the following:

  • Load-bearing capacity increased to 43 t
  • Maximum transport width of 3.5 m with the largest possible 'footprint' to spread the vehicle weight.
  • Better adaptation to ground conditions
  • Enhanced ride comfort with better suspension
  • Improved durability
  • Reduced weight

These far-reaching but important requirements are all satisfied by the new SmartTrax™ with Terraglide™ tracked system.

Based on the 'Triangle Concept’ with its hydropneumatically sprung rollers, a drive roller and 2 raised tensioning rollers, optimum ride comfort is ensured. Long drive belts and less sharply pronounced belt redirection guarantee greater overall durability. Less ground pressure and better ground adaptation are achieved with the patented double-joint mountings on the hydropneumatically suspended idler rollers. For the CR8000 models, a 'SmartTrax™ unit with Terraglide™' tracked chassis measuring 725 mm in width, delivers a machine transport width of precisely 3.49 metres. To reduce weight, the idler rollers are made of aluminum and the covers are manufactured from polyurethane (PU). The new 'SmartTrax™ with Terraglide™' tracked chassis will be offered with effect from Agritechnica 2013 as an additional variant for all CR combine harvesters.
