New Holland Agriculture innovation in the field of combines has been awarded two medals in the SIMA 2021 Innovation Awards by the international jury of specialists in the sector with the support of a network of technical experts. These awards, which recognize the most innovative equipment, products, technologies and services, were announced in a virtual ceremony broadcast on April 22.

Carlo Lambro, New Holland Brand President, said: “Today's farmers are expected to reduce the environmental impact of their operations. However, they must be able to do so without losing their profitability. Our role as equipment manufacturers is to use technology to help them."

“Today's two award-winning innovations address two important aspects of harvesting, helping them make informed decisions - one with agronomic data that they can use to market their crops in a more profitable way, and another that allows them to take proactive steps to reduce grain losses. while they are collecting. As always, New Holland innovations provide tangible benefits for its efficiency and profitability, while making sustainable work possible. "

NutriSense NIR Sensor Nutrient Analysis Technology: Silver Medal - From Harvest to Storage Category

As farmers strive to work sustainably, the collection of agronomic data becomes critical so that they can make informed decisions and maximize their sales. The integration of the near infrared (NIR) sensor allows to analyze, record and map the composition of the crops during harvest. Its operation is based on the measurement of the absorption of electromagnetic radiation in NIR.

This allows farmers to get the most out of the sale of their crops, since the price is associated with the quality of the harvest (according to parameters such as protein or fat content). They can also improve the nutritional value of feed varieties and mix different grain qualities to obtain a certain quality and standardized industry standards.

With the NutriSense system, customers also improve the agronomic knowledge of their fields. Today, it is impossible for a farmer to know how much nitrogen the plant absorbs. By mapping the protein level in the grain, customers can see the status of the nitrogen exported by the plant and modulate the nitrogen input accordingly.

The NutriSense system uses the proven New Holland NIR sensor, which is used in the brand's forage harvesters and forage harvesters for other functions such as crop moisture measurement. In fact, the NIR sensor on New Holland forage harvesters has been certified by DLG for its accuracy in determining moisture content in corn.

The NutriSense system will soon be incorporated into the giant packers.

Cleaning system pressure sensors: Bronze medal - “Spare parts, services and on-board electronics” category

The unique patented pressure analysis system of the sieve system allows you to increase the harvesting speed and obtain the highest quality. This system measures the pressure in the screen system, above and below the screens, and alerts the operator if it is overloaded or not. This makes it easy to make decisions on any adjustments that need to be made.

This new parameter can be viewed on the Intelliview IV screen, allowing the operator to quickly and easily set up the machine and make proactive decisions to reduce losses and increase daily productivity.

The pressure sensors integrated into the cleaning system provide the operator with real-time information that allows him to optimize the collection and anticipate overloads in the sieve system. They also improve machine control, reducing grain losses.
