Peru's coffee exports exceeded $300 million from January to June 2025

International shipments of this product from Peru have experienced a 15.6% growth compared to the same period in 2024 ($261,282,000), despite experiencing a 40.4% drop in volume.

Peruvian coffee shipments between January and June totaled $302,005,000, a figure that represents a 15.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024 ($261,282,000); however, the volume decreased by 40.4%, according to the Agro-Exports Department of the Association of Exporters (ADEX).

This indicates that the increase in the FOB value of shipments of this product was primarily due to rising international prices. During the period analyzed, the price of Peruvian coffee beans abroad averaged $6.88 per kilogram.

The vice president of the ADEX Coffee and Cocoa Committee, José San Martín, noted that adverse weather conditions in major global producing regions such as Brazil and Vietnam led to shortages, speculation, and higher prices.

In this regard, he pointed out that current production volumes in Peru will not be able to maintain the figures achieved in the first half of 2025, making it necessary to take action to overcome shortcomings such as informality and low technological levels.

"Measures are needed to promote the formalization of all actors in the coffee chain, in addition to providing technological support through the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) and working with high-yield varieties adapted to different climates and resistant to diseases," he noted.

The United States ($78,497,000) was the main market for this product, with a 29.1% increase and accounting for 26% of total exports. Germany ($52,852,000) followed with a positive growth of 29.9% and representing 17.5%.
Other destinations included Belgium ($36,633,000), Canada ($32,496,000), Colombia ($23,774,000), Mexico ($7,209,000), the United Kingdom ($6,079,000), Japan ($5,353,000), the Netherlands ($5,336,000), and France ($5,064,000), among others.

With a 99.5% share, unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee was the most notable item, totaling $300,700,000. Smaller amounts included roasted, non-decaffeinated coffee beans, ground roasted, non-decaffeinated coffee, coffee extracts, and decaffeinated roasted coffee.

Peruvian coffee will be one of the products on display at Expoalimentaria 2025, Latin America's most important food fair, taking place from September 24 to 26 in Lima. The event is expected to host over 3,000 business meetings and generate sales of more than $695 million.
